It’s officially week two of my journey, and while this week was a bit busier with college and exams looming, I still managed to make some solid progress on the creative front. Life’s about balance, right?

The first two days of the week were a bit of a blur, thanks to college. Between classes and prepping for exams (which start in 4 days—yikes), I didn’t have much time to dive into my fashion work. But hey, the grind continues, and I’ll squeeze in some creativity during my downtime because...well, fashion doesn’t take a break! That said, blog updates might be a little lighter over the next two weeks, but don’t worry, they’ll keep coming.

Day 3 was a bit more productive. I decided to take a step back from fashion for a second and focus on something fundamental: sketching. To help me improve my understanding of the human body, I bought a book filled with Michelangelo’s artwork and sketches. I know, I know—Michelangelo isn’t exactly a fashion designer, but when it comes to mastering human anatomy, who better? Plus, getting better at sketching will only help with my designs in the long run.

By Day 4, I was back to the fashion grind. I spent most of the day running around for college assignments and prints (so glamorous), but amidst all that chaos, I came across the concept of mood boards, and it blew my mind. What started as a “sure, I get it” moment turned into two days of deep diving into videos and tutorials. Who knew mood boards could be such a powerful tool in the design process? It’s not just about slapping some images together; it’s about finding the essence of what you want your collection or piece to say. I’ve been noting down all the techniques I’ve learned and can’t wait to make my own soon.

The biggest moment of the week? I finally picked up a pencil and tried sketching after a seven-year hiatus. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t great, but hey, it’s a start! I’m not expecting perfection overnight, but I’m determined to keep working on my sketching and posing skills, even through exam week. Improvement is the goal, and I’m in it for the long haul.

Now, here’s the exciting part: I traveled back from Mumbai to Pune to get some studying done for my exams, and as soon as I got there, I saw the inspiration for my very first mood board and collection! It was like a sign, and I knew right away—this had to be it. I’m keeping the details under wraps for now, but I’ll give you a little hint: it’s something we all need. Stay tuned because next week’s blog is going to be all about my mood board and the big reveal. Peace!
